The newest addition to the exploration portfolio, Sekayu PSC, was awarded in January 2007. This concession, located in South Sumatra, has excellent potential in a Miocene carbonate play which is productive throughout the Basin. The largest oil accumulation found to date (Kaji - Semoga Field) lies only 15 kilometers north of the Sekayu Block. A 200 km seismic survey, designed to prospect for this play, was completed in 2009, and the first Star Energy well on the block, Cerah-1, was spudded in December, 2009. Star Energy is also studying the CBM potential of this block.
